Problem with Condenser Microphone (High Noise)

    Hello,

I have a problem with a Superlux S241 True Condenser Microphone. When it is turned on I have a very high level of noise generated by the mic. The mic still lets sound trough as loud as usual, but the hissing or "wind blowing" like sound is very high. I've had it for just 10 months and it has been in stationary usage.

I also tried an other same model mic on the same sound system, and it worked properly. So I believe that the fault is only in the mic.

If anyone can give me some suggestions, is it repairable and what might cause that kind of fault, I would appreciate that very much.

Thank you very much in advance.

PS: I haven't disassembled that mic so I don't know what is going inside there.

The most likely cause is condensation on the diaphragm. Leave it in the hot press for a while to dry it out. Failing that, phone SUperlux if it's still under guarantee.
