    Does anybody know if there is anyway of putting in a formal complaint against newly placed double yellow lines? How?

    You're local council....But I've yet to see them reverse the decision to put them down. Would have to be exceptional circumstances.

    Thanks very much, my regular parking space was due to be double yellow lined this morning. There was war - 2 locals refused to move their car and in the end had to have the lines painted around there cars :).

    I imagine you will get a similar response that a friend got from his council in the UK.. The council are under no obligation to provide you with a parking space on a public road. Case closed..

    Kicker was... he had to pay them 500 quid to get his kerb lowered so he could get onto his driveway :)
