Hi can any one help me to translate the name Dempsey into Irish. I have to help my 4 year old for school.

Also, if Dempsey is now my married name do I still put Ni in front of it? Eg. Grace Ni Dempsey?

    And for a boy, O, do i add a h.

I need to translate Grace dempsey (married) and Eamonn Dempsey.

    Thanks Alot,

As the previous poster has already replied, this information is slightly wrong.
Nó "p" in the middle; and "Dh" after "Ní". Fada on the first "i".

And the previous poster (#3 ) put in an "a" that is not needed.

    Ó DÍOMSAIGH
    NÍ DHÍOMSAIGH

So it's Ó for a man, Ní for a woman and Uí for a married woman?
