Mods if it's not in the proper place please feel free to move it. I have gone through a lot of pages and can't seem to find the answer I am looking for.

I know if I purchase an item from a supplier and then sell this on to an end user I charge 21% VAT on sales price.

For example if the total cost for the items are costing me €400 to purchase and I charge €700 sales price to include installation do I charge them 13.5% VAT or 21%.

My reason for asking, the end user are a charity and can't claim back the VAT. If I can charge 13.5% it then makes it cheaper for the to purchase.

    Thanks in advance.

    Ronan

If you buy at 20% and sell on, it must also be at 20% unless you sell it as part of a service, for example fitting a part to a washing machine, at which time the rate becomes 13.5%.

You could charge €700.00 installation to include the parts used at 13.5%

I understand once I buy and sell to an end user I charge them 21%. How ever if I was to install/fit the unit this is where I am stuck. If I include the install in the purchase price to I then charge 21%?
