    Hi Guys,

A friend just gave me one of these to have a look at.The blue light around the charger lights up but it wont boot or even make an attempt. No hhd light or any leds at all.I know obout the nvidia problem but doubt thats it as it does not show signs of life at all.Tried all the usual out with cmos batt, holding down buttons and all but to no avail.I think the mobo is fried.
    Any ideas????
    Thanks in advance

It could be the charging port is broken, and there is no power getting to the machine, check the charging port to make sure all looks in order. Also try booting without the battery installed but the device plugged in. It could be motherboard failure, but it could be an AC Adaptor port problem also, to fix this is a soldering job

Thanks for the reply YoYo.I have the laptop dissassembled and it is not the port.I think that maybe the mobo is dead. These suffer for the graphics chip over heating and the solder melting bot i dont know if this would lead to no power.
    Thanks again for the reply!

Yeah its a weird one alrite, usually with the Nvidia problem the machine boots but has a corrupted display, if its a 8 series card I think its had its day (even if its not GPU related probably not worth investing in fixing due to being a ticking time bomb!)
