    Hello
I am doing research on water usage in the house and the development of a water saving tap. I am currently in my final year of a Product Design and would really appreciate the feedback.
    Much Appreciated

Very short survey. What do you hope to show from it.

That people will conserve water if they are charged for it?

That people will use a water saving tap?

Most water in a house is used by appliences/Then washing bathing showering/then cooking i imagine.

I cannot see what the survey is going to show and tbh i am always aware that biased surveys can be used to push someones point and i would feel this is biased towards the use of either a. Meter b.Tap. either way it means more money for us.

I am currently looking into developing a tap that will deskill the user and save water i.e. having default settings etc. I know that taps do not consume most of the households water but there is too much water used doing everyday things that only require very little water. Just in the development research phase, any information available is appreciated

Questions five and six are a bit confusing. I consciously avoid wasting water, but I'm conscious of other people's water wastage...

Is question six, do *I* subconsciously waste water? Or is water wasted in general?

Question 6 rephrased, question 5 is asking are you aware of anybody who wastes water and its obvious to you. Sorry about that, should have looked over it a bit better

There is 2 types of tap currently on the market that in a roundabout way save water.

    1. There is the blending valve. This blends hot and cold together and pumps it out at the required temperature so you dont have to constantly regulate the water.

    2. Then there is concussive taps. These are the traditional press down timer taps. The timers can be adjusted to allow for longer time.

Now to showers. A lot of specialist manufacturs like Grohe for example have developed a shower with a box you conceal in the wall. This box contains water with a heating element and is designed to give you water being hot instatly and then shuts down when the required temp water starts to flow from the tap.

The biggest user of water in the house is either a. The washing maching or B. The diswasher i imagine.

However one importent point. Most men according to stats have a 5min shower. Most women have a 15min shower. This is because of all the conditioning etc. So really. a women will use 3 times as more water in the bathroom than a man. This is not a sexist but proveable comment. It also implies that developing a water shut off scheme can be grand. But what use is it if its overridden or disabled.
