Ok guys really tempted to cancel my Sky subscription but can I ask if I do would I be better off going with a free sat HD box or just using the Sky HD box, basically are the FTA channels on Sky the very same as the ones on other FTA boxes.

And if someone was feeling really generous with there info they might even let me know what channels I would keep with the Sky HD box after I cancel he sub.

    Thanks for any info

    channels: http://www.freesat.co.uk/what-you-get/our-channels

The Sky box will work fine.. just remove the viewing card.. You wont be able to record or pause.. Maybe someone else will clarify if you can pick up the HD channels too.. As im not too sure on that one!!

Is it 100% that I cant pause or record, As far as I know you keep the freesat HD channels like ITV HD, BBC HD etc

To use sky+ you have to have a active sky subscription so the ability to pause and record will stop once you subscription runs out.

Truthfully you can get most of the freesat channels using the sky box however the user experience is crap. As you can't relocate channels they end up being all over the guide and also you may still have to access ITV through the other channels if you can't reset the location on the box.
