Road Markings (Paint)

Do the guys that go around painting road markings on the roads still exist? Driving around the Northside of Dublin and most road markings are very faint or non existent. Driving up the N32 and for about 2km there was absolutely no road markings, all this road safety crack and they can't even get the simple things like a bit of paint sorted out?

Have the IMF took the road paint with them ?

Hint: drive on the left hand side of the road.

Seriously though, it can be tricky to navigate at times with no markings. There's a newly refurbished stretch on Pearse St. going alongside Trinity towards the Garda Station that's 3 lanes wide (could be 4 including bus lane?) but with no road markings on it as of yet, makes for an interesting couple of hundred yards' driving.

Wouldn't be surprised if some drivers didn't know too keep left on the road if no markings.

Probably the same effect as everything else, no money = no fixing or redoing...

As an aside the road markings over here are near impossible to see when it's wet or dark, it's quite disconcerting at times.

They've just done a lot of work on the N32. Perhaps they just haven't got them painted yet.

On the N32? And pick up a fine for driving in the bus lane?

The bus lane on the N32 hasn't been in effect for about 2 years now. ;)

I think thats why the marking are so poor along the whole length of it also, as they "removed" the bus lane markings.

    Haha. Oops...

But judging by the traffic along both sides (in both lanes!) this morning, they know already... :(

Am I right in say this, they put down bus lanes on the N32 even when no buses operated along that road? Or was it that stupid Dart-Airport link bus that used it ?

As for the work there doing at the N32-Malahide road junction, I dunno why there even doing anything to the junction it was perfectly fine, no need to resurface it.

Now the East Wall Road, that needs a full resurface and a repaint.

You're right, it was the old Dart-Airport bus that used to go along it. But no more is there bus lanes along it. The Bus Lanes remained there after that bus stopped for quite a while, then they somewhat removed the markings. Forward planning like only the RSA can do really. :pac:

I use that junction every morning now and I have to agree with you, not sure as to what they're actually doing. It appears they have made the filter lane for turning right off the Malahide Road somewhat bigger and maybe put down new kerbing... But it worked perfectly fine before, so why it's being done I dont know.
