    Hey lads..my engine is making a ticking sound when its running..not very loud but noticable when the window is down. a friend thinks it has something to do with the cam shaft? he recommended i use STP engine treatment..can anyone tell me what this stuff does?

    What car/engine is it?

    Have you checked the oil level?

    oil level is fine..car is running fine. nissan almera 1.4.

    What oil have you been using in it? On those engines, if the correct oil hasn't been used, you can have chain tensioner issues.
