Hi folks I have an Acer Aspire 5315 and it has all of a sudden decided to stop connecting to the internet, I have another laptop and a phone both on the same wireless connection working fine so I know its not the router or the broadband connection itself. The laptop is picking up the signal but wont let me connect when I go into the connect to a network thing in the Network or sharing centre is says "The settings saved on this computer for the network do not match the requirements of the network" I never changed any settings and it says this for any network that I try to connect to that I used to be able to. Ive tried the usual novice tricks of turning it/router on and off again and system restore all to no avail. Can anyone help me!!

Go into the network properties & delete your wireless network from the list of saved ones, then try to redetect it. What's OS in laptop-Vista?

Have You got any chance to take off wireless card from Acer aspire and tried it in different laptop? Maybe it's a wifi card fault. Also You can remove Your wifi card and put different one if You have it.
    Btw.
    Try this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WVD3gbeL1cI
    or
    - Go to Network and sharing center
    - The go to manage wireless connection
    - Right-click on the SSID, and then select Properties.
    For WPA2 Users:
    - Under the Security Tab, set Security Type to WPA2-Personal.
    - Set Encryption Type to NONE. (Or you may select AES if its selected as TKIP or vice versa)
    - Set Passphrase.
    - Click on OK.
    - Then try to check your connection?
    - If you cannot still browse a website then try to go back to,
    - Start and select connect to and find your network name and click connect
    - Input the key and connect again
    - If it tells you that it was successfully connected, then try to browse a website
    - If not, change the SSID or your wireless network name
    - Then connect to your network again (Start and select connect to and find your network name and click connect, Input the key and connect again)

    or
    1. Start
    2. Control panel
    3. Network and internet
    4. Network and sharing center
    5. Manage wireless networks
    6. strongest networks will show
    7. DoubleClick (your SSID)
    Go to: security tab
Security type: No authentication(open) drop down and choose no authentication…
Inscription type: WEP. Use drop down choose WEP
    Network security key XXXXXXXXXX
    Hit OK and it’ll connect

Good Luck! Hope this will help!

    Hi,
Can you go into your network settings, Manage Wireless Settings, and remove the network in question.

Then try to connect to it again, as a new network.

Make sure you don't have a firewall on lockdown.
