    Hey,

Does anyone know if there are ferries traveling from Dubrovnik to Croatia in October, for example next week. Heading over there and I can't find any information on ferries to go at this time (i know they go from Split every day).

    Any help appreciated,

    Donal.

Unless things have changed from when I was there, there are no direct daily ferries from Dubrovnik to Hvar Island.

You will need to take a ferry from Dubrovnik to Split or Stari Grad.

    Check out the Jadrolinija timetables.

As gebbel says, there are no direct ferries, or at least there weren't any back in September of last year.

Might be best to look into a train up to Split . It's well worth spending a day wandering around, a very cool old Roman town.

When we were there we got the catamaran from Hvar-Korcula, and then booked a ferry from Korcula. The ferry ended up being cancelled at the last minute due to being damaged, and we had to get a bus Korcula-Dubrovnik.

I imagine though you could do the same in reverse, though you might have to spend a night in Korcula.

    [edit]
Actually just checked, there's no ferries to Korcula at the moment.
Get the bus from Dubrovnik-Korcula, then the cat to Hvar. As far as I remember the bus is only 2.5 hours - we left Korcula at 7am and were in Dubrovnik by 9.30. Save you having to all the way to Split.

Cat timetable is on the same site, you don't (and can't) book it in advance. Doubt it's that busy in October.

We missed our day in Korcula due to having to leave at 7am instead of 7pm, but looks like it's worth spending a day there if you have the time. Marco Polo was reportedly from there - every second restaurant is called after him. Oh and it's pronounced Kortula.
    Split's nice too though.
