I will shortly be visiting a consultant and having some procedures performed. Due to the level of my health insurance, I will be due partial cover on some items, with the excess to be paid by me.

    Revenue states
You cannot claim tax relief for any expenditure which:
has been, or will be, reimbursed by another body such as the VHI, Quinn Insurance Ltd, Aviva Health Insurance Ltd, the Health Service Executive or other body or person

However, as the insurer is not reimbursing or paying the full amount, does that allow me to claim tax relief on the balance?
