Im gonna be selling a car for a friend shortly. its a 00 silver bmw 316 petrol with 169000 miles on the clock! it doesnt really have any extras other than air conditioning, doesnt have alloys or anything but it is driving tightly and bodywork is decent for the mileage. the prices of those cars seem to fluctuate from 1400 to 2300 on donedeal so not sure where this cars asking price should be. it has NCT for 1 year also. any opinions guys!?.

...... all someone needs is an old beemer in bits on the drive or whatever taking years to dissappear, when breaker yards are full of them:rolleyes:

I think he means parts are expensive for them. I don't think he's suggesting to break it rather than sell it whole :)

it definately wont be broke for parts. the car is taxed tested and is still driving well, gearbox, clutch and brakes are 100%. i would have thought it was worth at least 1450 sold as seen with tax and test.

high mileage, 12 year old car, you would be lucky to get between 900-1100

Used values are really falling away these days no matter how good a car. When theres new metal rolling onto the roads all the time then theres not much hope for the value retention of a used car unless its a classic.

for petrol yokes, yes ........you'd have a decent chance of getting a good price if it was diesel, but as its not, no chance.

I would say you would get 1,300 for it providing it's not leaking oil or coolant as those m43 engines are known for.

Haha this makes me lol because I know people like this except the majority of the car's being sh1tty underpowered 2006-2007 VW Golfs at my school. I'd like to think I was different driving an Alfa. Although one guy did have a 2001 318! :D
