HSE Death Grant ?

    Hi,

    My dad died recently and I was told by the funeral directors that there's two grants I could apply for. One is for €850 and he gave me the form for that. The other he said was for less, was done through the HSE (I think) and was means tested. Any ideas what or where I can find more info about this ?

    Sorry about your dad. The HSE grant is means tested rigourously with all family members being asked to contribute to the funeral costs, even those on SW, before the CWO will consider helping out. Also,the CWO will only consider basic funeral costs. refreshments, floral tributes, music etc. will not be considered

    The grant for 850 euro comes through fairly quick too and is the best and also least stressfull one to get.

    Had to do this myself when my mother passed on.

    Just read through the citizens info site and looks like I'll fail because I work full time! Might try it anyway. Thanks for the replies guys.
