    Hi,

Have a query hoping people might be able to help with.

Is it possible to upgrade from iOS 3.x to 4.3.x now that 5 is out?

I need to install an app but it does not work on 3.x or 5.0 but i'm pretty sure iTunes will force me to update to 5 and not let me go to 4.3.5.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, as explained above, you no longer have any choice but to update to 5, unless you can source 4.3.5 elsewhere.

All apps are rapidly being optimised for 5 now, so yours will probably fall into line.

5 doesn't just make your iPad sing, it does harmony too.

    Thanks for all your replies.

My issue is we are launching a service to people here next week and the software vendor has just discovered a bug with iOS 5.

I had not considered that some people would be on 3.x and presumed most would be on 4.x.

If i can get my hands on the 4.3.5 install file is it possible to force iTunes to only upgrade to that?

    here you go
normally Apple keep the previous version signed off for a few months after the latest release so you shouldn't have a problem installing ios4.3.5.

    http://www.redmondpie.com/download-ios-4.3.5-for-iphone-4-3gs-ipad-2-1-and-pod-touch-direct-links/

To update. simply hold left shift on your keyboard + click on restore in itunes and you can then browse to where the 4.3.5 image is and install it.
No harm in trying it anyway :)
