Hoping someone could help me with the dimensions of the back of a Ford Transit I'll be renting in the coming days. Basically I'll be carrying a load that will be circa six foot in length and i'm wondering will it fit into the back of it. Any help appreciated. As a slight aside when I hired the van they told me it was e18 for the day? Is this right as it seems very cheap. Or will I expect to pay more when I pick it up.

What type of Transit? Transit Connect SWB or LWB, Normal Transit SWB, MWB, LWB or Jumbo?

Not sure about the Connect models, but a SWB Transit should have well over 6ft of length in the back.

They asked me did I want a LWB but I said no so I'm assuming its the SWB I am getting. Was worried that the load wouldn't fit into it length wise. Relief to hear I'll be grand. Appeciate the reply R.O.R.

    Hi all,
I am buying a flat pack kitchen, including 2.5 metre worktops from IKEA.
They want 125 euros to deliver to to Thurles. Can anyone suggest a cheaper option?
    self drive van hire? couriers?.

    Thanks

That's probably the cheapest option you're going to get really. If you're going to hire a van, you'll be paying about €60 in fuel alone plus the price of hire, the hassle of collecting it and dropping it off etc. IKEA don't cater for couriers unless you use an IKEA shopping service where they shop for, buy and deliver your items. I offer this as part of my business but I couldn't compete with IKEA's price unless I had a load in close proximity to your own delivery address. Also, getting a kitchen in IKEA isn't easy, there's so many different parts in different places throughout the store and you'll be lucky if everything is in stock on the day too.

Best of luck getting sorted anyway :)
