    Hi,

2 apologies first .... 1 if i am posting in the wrong forum; 2 for feeling completely clueless when typing here having read some other posts.

What i want is to purchase a 1TB or greater storage device that will also play pretty much all file types that i save on it (from full HD video to jpeg pictures) and will have a HDMI cable for connecting to the TV. Ideally can use it to browse the web using the TV as the monitor.
    Anyone any tips?

I've made a €100 mistake here already by buying a storage only device and listening to the PC World sales guy telling me that pretty much all DVD or blue ray players will play almost all file types that i am likely to store, i.e.: connect to the blue-ray player and from the blue-ray to TV. Despite having a new model blue ray and an ~1 year old model high spec Sony Bravia TV - no joy.

    Thanks.
