Applying for the BTEA more than once

So a couple of years ago I did an access course in an IT which I did not complete successfully (failed maths) while on the BTEA and have now been offered a place on an NUI university access course. Anyone have any idea of whether I should be eligible for the BTEA again, as this is a higher step up the ladder than the previous one?

    Is it a full-time course?
They are both at the same level.

    It's part-time

Btea is only for full-time students.

That is not the case. If you are doing a part time course you apply for BTEA but you do not get the book allowance.

If is it is at a higher level than the previous course they you should be ok.
What level was the previous course and what level is the course you have been offered. Also do you meet the current guidelines to apply for BTEA. If all is ok you can also apply for grant to cover tuition fees but cannot avail of maintenace grant while on BTEA .

When you btea do you mean the pteo which isn't really btea as you still have to look for full time work and aren't automatically entited to full SW rate.

Yes.... but you still fill out the btea form and have to be available and looking for work on the days you are not on the course.

I don't understand why you refuted my assertion that Btea is not applicable to part-time students, eastbono. Could you back this up?

I dont know what your problem is. As already stated if doing a part time course e.g. pteo you have to fill out the BTEA form. There is no PTEO application form.
