went to pick up the bike after its spent a week away getting painted

wouldn't start. no N light, dash light, side lights, nothing.

stuck jump leads on it and it starts - problem solved says you, nope

take the leads off and it cuts out right away(with the headlight on) - slowly losses power and dies(with the lights off)

when its running(with the leads on a good battery) and i rev it the headlight doesnt get brighter which would say reg/rec but with it being a non standard light unit im not sure if it should get brighter

bike was 100% before the painting began, as in no issues with starting. battery is a Yuasa and brand new.

will be sticking the battery on charge tomorrow. really stumped as to what the prob is and why it only happened now

the trail tech clocks have been connected 3 weeks before painting began with no issues so cant see them being the prob as in draining the battery

    so, reg/rec??

Its a Honda, they give lots of probs with reg/rect.
    Check wiring connections.
bike seems to be powered by battery and will cut out when battery charge goes low.

Every Honda I owned had problems with Reg/rectifier.

That would be normal for a trickle charger, it takes longer for a full charge because your battery would have been dead, if not fried by the reg/rec if it was giving out too much charge.

if you have a multimeter this is a pretty good guide to troubleshooting electrical problems.
