Hi I'm new to the site.

I'm in 5th year at the moment but am looking to next year and I think I'm going to try get into Trinity.

Was wondering what the sports clubs were like near the college (GAAand Soccer). I would only know a few teams in Dublin:
GAA- St. Vincents, Killmacudand the like
Soccer- Stella Maris, Cherry Orchard, Belvedere and some others.
I don't know how near or far they are from the college (or the halls I would plan to stay in for 1st year) as I don't know Dublin.

Was wondering is the college near clubs to play for?

The soccer would be more for coaching than playing but the GAA I'm finishing my first year minor now but have played u21 & Junior at decent levels so that would be for playing.

This wouldn't be deciding factor would just like to know there would be something to do.

    Thanks,
    Eoin

I'm planning to do physiotherapy and that's in Trinity and UCD but I'm leaning towards Trinity as 1st choice.

Not sure the names of many soccer clubs in walking distance of trinity (it being slap bang in the middle of the city), most of the soccer even TCD play is in ballymun pitches. I think Sheriff st play out in fairview as do belvedere.

so basically, there won't be many teams playing around TCD those clubs all play a bit further out from the city centre.

Ok thanks. Makes sense I just didn't know where Trinity was located but if it's i the centre it's not going to be near much.

Is UCD further from the city centre or both the same?

Trinity IS the city centre. You really can't get more central than Trinity unless you built a university actually on the Liffey :P

UCD is about 10-15 minutes south of the city centre by car.

OP you do know Trinity has a number of GAA and soccer teams? Would you not consider joining them where everybody would be relatively new to one another instead of joining a local team where you would have to get by the politics of lads knowing each other for years and trying to dislodge them in a team.
