3-1 down in the 90th minute, wouldn't have done if it it was 1-1 or the likes, pointless tbh.

Why did the kick have to be retaken?

According to the description the referee was suspended for 6 months for bad decisions during the game.
Why can't the FA do the same?

Which FA? Our one? Because there would be no refs left in the LOI if they starting banning for sh*t decisions.

"the FA" = the English Football Association. They are called the FA. Other countries are not called that. Hence "FAI", "IFA" , "SFA" etc.

Thought they were just called the FA by English people. Didn't realise that was their official name :)

interesting alright. i wouldnt do it, but it perhaps had a small role to play in the ref getting a 6 months ban.

in reality, he wont ref again at the top level in romania.

Lots of people? I know I do.

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

Goalie is better than the "goaldie"
    Or they scored a goald.

    Gets on my goat that.

The only people I know that use goalie are people that dont know about football. Anyone thats played the game call it keeper.

I call them Goalie's. I know quite a bit about football as I coach it.

It's a very common term in Ireland for a goalkeeper. I hear it on a regular basis. The English and Posh Irish people generally call them Keepers. In the same way alot of Irish say "Nil all" for a scoreless draw and it baffles the English.

    Nothing wrong with goalie

Judging by their reaction, the ref went against them plenty of times earlier in the match.

could you imagine when defending a corner, your keeper comes to claim the inswinging ball in the air shouting 'goalie's!'? both sets of players would laugh him off the park accusing him of being a yank or some such

Brad Friedels a yank.... Lets see how many pro's risk laughing at him. :p

No, I would say depending on where you are from, you call it different names.
I have played football and I say goalie occassionally.
It probably is a habit from when I was a kid.
