    Hi,

Does anyone know if it would be better to go for a middle office admin job over a fund accounting job? My main experience is FA but would like to move into middle office. Both positions are within a fund administrators?
    Any advice would be great!

    Cheers

middle office jobs seem to be slim at the moment! Is this a move in the right direction in getting out of FA? Or would it be effectively secretarial work as its with a fund administrator?

MO in best case scenario is either Trade Support/Assistant or Product Control... since it is BNY Mellon then I doubt it is either as both those jobs have interaction with trading desks and BNY Mellon doesn't really offer that service.

As such, I imagine the MO role is more Ops/Back Office and a pleb could do it... but then again a pleb could do any MO really despite what they try to sell you. The only difference is the varying amounts of stress with each position

It's still within BNY Mellon though OP so while the job title may be middle office it's not like you'll be dealing with a trading desk

There are a very limited few banks in Dublin with middle office jobs and they need trade clerks and MO administrators and you'd be doing documentation also for front office.
Calling other companies to verify deal and there are various projects too. A support role, not a bad job at all.
You didn't need a degree to get it, leaving cert was fine though with the times we're in a lot more competition

Anyway fund accounting is good to work in too though boring at times. Any interest in doing accountancy exams, the company would support you
