You know them, the walk in pairs taking up the entire path not even acknowledging that you almost got killed to side step them.

How do you deal with those people?

College students are the worst for it. Walking in groups of about four if the path is wide enough.

Just keep walking straight on. If you bump into them then don't say anything.

If they are coming towards me, I stop dead, then they have to walk around you, problem solved ;)

    Walk like this...

with your elbows spread wide, blow the bastards off the path.

Walk so close behind them they can feel your breath on their necks. They'll soon move.

Or if coming towards you just keep to the centre and make them step around you.

Feckers I cant stand are the ones that step out of doorways without looking and right into your path slowing ya down.

Send copious amounts of urine in their direction with great force.

How do you deal with those people?

I assign them to their relevant category of importance in my life.

If they dont look scary or tough I make eye contact with them in the hope they will move out of the way

If I think that they think I look scary or tough I pursue this advantage and walk straight towards them with my best "fcuk you" face on me and watch them scatter out of my way......they would see me smile with satisfaction afterwards if the caught up with me and performed some sort of face inspection.

know you're place in the food-chain my pedestrian underlings!

    Enough pussy-footing around here folks.

We all know we're talkin' 'bout 50-something ladies, with hair-do's like Denis Irwin, strange vulcan-style sideburns and no peripheral vision whatsoever.

    Curfew.

don't they all operate under a self imposed bingo hours type curfew anyway?

momentarily distract them by shouting out "number 3 debbie my gee!!!"....lady on the pavements a win win winner

before nutting them and robbing their frys chocolate cream and cat food :pac:

Those two women in track suits walking side by side in the cycle lane in Stillorgan this morning took up most of the lane. Its not a footpath, its a cycle lane.

This is why we should be allowed carry swords.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 361 ✭✭breadandjam

If they're walking too slowly in front of you then say excuse me in a loud voice. If they are walking towards you then do as the earlier poster said and stop - thay have to walk around you.

What I don't like are the friends who meet on the pavement and then spread out to form a barricade to other pedestrians.

Man I hate breaking the flow like that.......I much preferred earlier suggestion of sword wielding!

Totally...and if that comes back I don't see why I couldn't engage in a spot of dueling where and when it took my fancy............if the other party was willing of course

(I'm not advocating cold blooded murder with a sword or pistol here - just a gentleman's agreement to die or become horribly maimed should one prove the least gentlemanly by means of a true test of fortitude, skill, courage and most important of all gentlemanly attributes accuracy)

This seems to be a disease by stupid people. On Wilton Terrace there are THREE footpaths and yet every single day there are idiots walking, jogging and worst of all walking their prams on the cycle lane!

The Phoenix Park cycle lane is a farce. Just when you get up to a decent speed there's a whole family ahead of you. This country has a lot of stupid, ignorant clowns.

Back to the original query. Walk straight through them. I do.

Also anyone ever notice dozens of Spanish and Italian students all hang around the front of their "colleges" in town blocking the whole footpath. Barge through them.

They might learn some english if they didnt hang around with each other all the time:)

I'm 6ft 3 and weigh about 18 stone, I'm not even going to feel it if I collide with someone so I don't give a fcuk if they don't/won't move, I'll plow straight through them.

    COME AT ME BRO :pac:

Joggers too. I've had a couple of near collisions with these health nuts. The speed some of them go.
