    Howya lads,

Was hoping get bit of advice off you.

My crank has become a bit loose and I figured that the bearings were after wearing away..

When the crank tried to be removed the bearing wont budge, its like they are fixed right onto the frame... I'm afraid to pull to hard on it in case I strip the threads from the frame itself.. After soaking in oil for days still no budge!

Worse case scenario, if the threads on the frame of the bike itself are destroyed is there any type of device to rethread them (like you could a crank arm for the pedal)??

Am I ballsed if I pull to hard and rip the threads on the frame??

Any description of the bike, bottom bracket and cranks might be helpful.

And pics too if you can.

Have you tried both sides? Is it an external BB or older spindle type?
I presume your frame is English threaded - i.e. the drive side of the bracket is reverse threaded, so you have to turn clockwise to remove.
The non-drive side is conventionally threaded, turn anti clockwise to remove.

It would be very unusual to strip the threads on a frame getting a BB out, unless one of the cups has twisted in the frame but this only happens with the old type cup and cone type BBs, ive yet to come across one that cant be gotten out although I have one at the moment that might be the first but only because some genius drilled the splines out! Even if the threads get damaged there are options.

If it's a standard square taper BB then the cheapest option would be a threadless BB unit which instead of threading into the frame, instead threads into it's self, they work fine IF they're fitted properly, another option is to re-thread up to Italian size, slightly better option as you have more choice on parts then, or if it's a steel frame a piece of tubing can be brazed in and then threaded but no one in this country could do it that I know of, but some thing I want to be able to do in the future.
I really doubt it would come to any of the above though, as I said in my earlier post the threads rarely get damaged no matter how seized a BB is.

And a good bike shop will be able to tap out threads again if they are not too bad.
OP, give it in to a shop, and they should be able to get it out for you without any damage.
