    Hi

    Has any one any experiance of deailing with thses guys ? ....My eldery father brought his car there to get new tyres and alligment done ...they spoke on the phone and agreed it would be 140 euro ( 2 new tyres + alligment ) but when they were half way through this, they told him the car had a 'wishbone' suspension gone and the alligment bolt was seized .....he agreed with them to fix it ....when they were done he got a bill for 280euro ....was he con-ed ? or are these guys fairly genuine ?

    Where do you see a possible con there? It needed extra suspension work done, they rang him, he agreed to let them do it an only got charged an extra E140 for, presumabley, a replacement part including fitting.

    Ah yeah suppose you are right .....its just when they come to ya tell ya some thing is wrong with the car your basic instinct is to automatically think they are gangsters :D prob solved so :)

    Well if your unsure then just ask them to show you the part that they changed and explain exactly what was wrong. Any honest garage should have no hesitation in doing this.

    The Clarkes (owners of Tractamotors Cavan) are decent people, in business, successfully, for a long time.

    The Clarkes (owners of Tractamotors Cavan) are decent people, in business, successfully, for a long time.
    They have a very good name alright and always heard good things about them.I think the garage couldnt have been any straighter with the person getting the work done as it involved replacing the wishbone bushes and possibly a track rod end.I think its grossly unfair that the person who started the thread named the garage

    OP, suppose the garage spotted the defective component and your dad had declined the work and drove away, only for that part to fail catastrophically on the way home. For the peace of mind, do you think the garage did the responsible, professional thing in replacing that part?
