    Here is bamboozling's team;

    abBqg9kamU.jpg

    Right my team,

Pick 1; Luka Modric, probably the best passing midfielder in the league he was the centre of my team that I needed.

Pick 2; Edin Dzeko, in fantastic form thus far this season, on his day he really is unplayable. Gives me so many options with his power and pace up front.

Pick 3; Per Mertesacker, 70 odd caps for Germany by the age of 26 don't come round by accident. Great central defender but needs a good partner.

Pick 4; Dennis Bergkamp. I picked number 6 in this round and didn't see Bergkamp getting past 3. Amazingly he did, and I had to pick him, hard to find balance with a player like Bergkamp, team has to be built around him and I feel I've done that.

Pick 5; Scott Parker. My defensive midfielder, and we can only see the chemistry between him and Modric and I've no doubt that will transfer to this team. 5th round for the reigning PWA players of the year is fantastic value.

Pick 6; James Milner. This pick is massive because it gives me great versatility he plays centre midfield and winger equally well and gives me options. He has been playing well at winger so far this season and again I think is value for the 6th round.

Pick 7; Ben Foster. Looking back I might have picked a round or two too early but I needed a goalie and got the goalie who gave exhibitions of goalkeeping last year. The most saves by a country mile last season and I don't think anyone can forget his game vs Chelsea when he was immense.

Pick 8; Pedro Zabaleta. Mr. consistency himself, Mr. Man City. The fans love him for his never say die attitude and he brings massive amounts to any team. Capable of playing right and left back, a starter for the Argentine national team, good footballer and all round great lad.

Pick 9; Dani Alves. I realised going into this round that I was sorted up front, sorted in centre mid so I was going to go for a wide pick. This man gives you all the attacking of a winger while rarely getting caught out of position. The best full back in the game and not bad value for pick 15 of this round.

Pick 10; Younnes Kaboul. I needed a centre half and I needed one who would compliment Mertesacker. I got a great pick in round 10 with Kaboul of Spurs. He has great athletisicm and has come on leaps and bound cementing a place in Spurs defence.

Pick 11; Jonas Gutierrez. I was looking at the teams before my 10th round pick and noticed that very few teams needed wingers. I would have picked him round 10 but felt he might drop my way. He did and he's a great pick for the 11th round.

    I'm playing 4-2-3-1,

Foster is very reliable in goals, Kaboul and Mertesacker compliment each other perfectly with Mertesacker reading the game and Kaboul covering ground. We will not be playing the offside trap.

Zabaleta gives me solidity at left back and isn't afraid of overlapping and getting quality ball in the box. Getting ball into the box will be a key facet of my game. Alves, well we all know what Alves can do, and he's going to give me the width that I need and my 3 will probably play a bit narrow with no out and out wingers.

Modric and Parker in centre mid is brilliant. In this game you are hoping for your players to establish an understanding but we don't need that here. The two have formed an immense partnership at Spurs and will retain the ball as much as possible. There isn't many better midfield partnerships in the game.

Milner and Gutierrez are perfect for this formation, give me creativity and pace. I really like the balance of this team and the balance of my wingers.

Bergkamp and Dzeko. I think this pairing would devestate defences and it is these two that I hope will bang in the goals to win this game.

    Captain; Dennis Bergkamp
    Penalties; Dennis Bergkamp
    Frees; Luka Modric
    Corners; Luka Modric

This is a very shmancy aul tool. Far from this kind of craic we were rared

The principle aim of a football team is to score more goals than its opponents. You can do that in one of a few ways. Sit back and defend and defend and defend and try and nick one on the break..... or you can send out a team who have been designed to view goalscoring as their raison d’etre. I don’t know that Van Der Sar is much good in front of goal, but the other ten in my line up can all score.

Starting at the front and move back from there. The Ivorian madman that is Didier Drogba. Drogba is a God, a legend of the game. Were it not for the fact that Chelsea are desperately trying to justify buying fifty million quids worth of horsemeat wrapped up in a Liverpool jersey, Drogba would be starting week in and week out. His record in the Premiership over a number of seasons is virtually peerless. All he needs is the proper service.

Service from out wide perhaps – well if that is what you want I give you the creative services of Mssrs Theodore Walcott and Mr. Florian Malouda esq. Words can express how good these guys are, but only very big clever words or French words, like incroyable. Walcott is correctly regarded as being one of the most impressive young English players of his generation, with ability on either side of the park or up front, he has a wonderful footballing brain. Malouda is a genuius and at 31 he has years of geniusness ahead of him. He is so cool, he even has a cool website, www. florentmalouda.com, although that is less important than the many trophies, medals, accolades and world cup medal he has to his name. In the gallactico universe that was Chelsea’s Premier League winning team in 09/10 he was club player of the year. Why? Because he was just that awesome.

A centre midfield triangle of Petrov M, Benayoun and Rodriquez M at the point. This has caused some consternation, some would even say controversy. Three internationals, three lethal finishers, three creative geniuses. The critics are the same people who looked at Guernica and said ‘a horse doesn’t look like that’. As Willie Wonka said, well actually as the Poet Arthur O’Shaughnessy said but Willie Wonka quoted him, ‘We are the music makers, and We are the dreamers of dreams’. These three boys will bang them in with the kind of aplomb not seen since the final orgies of the Roman empire. Maxi has a fantastic goal ratio and his international experience is impressive, no not impressive, very impressive. Yossi, aside from having an implausibly cool name, he has played for Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal. Three of the four biggest clubs in the UK if not the World. Why, because he rocks. Martin Petrov is steel, he is coolness, he is despite his attacking reputation perfectly capable of playing the defensive role. He won’t be though. We are planning to stick to rule number one – We are going to score more goals than you.

Shawcross and Hangeland. Well both are a handful at set pieces, both can score and both are hard as hell. Playing in teams where they know the value of defence, these were my first choices in these positions. Maicon and Santos, not only are they excellent and proven international defenders, Maicon with a Balon Dor nomination, like many others on this team, both are seriously threatening going forward.
Finally in nets, Edwin Van Der Sar. I know it’s a tough call for some who is better PS or EvDS, but to me that’s the only comparison in this competition. I’ll live safe in the knowledge that if there is anyone better, it is one person.

Its going to come down to this and i cannot stress this enough, we are going to score more goals than you. When we have finished doing that we will score a few more for the craic. biggrin.gif

A centre midfield of martin petrov and yossi benyoun just cant win against modric and parker imo. Its a shame because the rest of the team is quite good but given the fact there was still numberous cm available i just cant vote for Rigor.

would love to see this match though plenty of goals in it

Rigor Mortis' team is just not good enough in midfield. Players like Alves & Bergkamp will have a field day with the opposition only having one capable, recognised central midfielder.

    Bam wins the day, imo

This is why I have gone for Bam.

Rigor's team looks very dangerous out wide and probably would service Drogba with some good balls. But in the centre you would be exposed without a proper holding player. Petrov and Benayoun would be better served playing further/wider up the pitch, I don't think they'd be a match for Parker and Modric. In saying that I wouldn't mind seeing how that team would play together :D

whilst i'm voting for bamboozling on account of the fact that i feel his team is a much more cohesive unit and would likely dominate midfield quite comfortably,
i think its only fair to point out that rigor mortis' write up was definitely the best out of any of the matches so far.

I especially enjoyed the "but only big clever words, or french words, like Incroyable" part.

But unfortunately for you rigor, Bam wins the day for me.

for the simple fact that all your midfielders and your L&RB are very attacking I think Bams team would win. Centrally you would be exposed and Modric & Bergkamp would be pulling he strings as Bams side progress I fear. Its a real pity though as Id say even 1 DM in your side could have made all the difference as you have some very talented players from VDS to Drogba

    Bam for me.

the midfield is just too strong, though that defence will be in trouble later in the competition.

Bamb's midfield is just so far superior, that's why I've voted for him.

Has to be Bamboozling, you can tell Rigor Mortis really didn't think the shape of his team through when picking it. Benayoun in the same side as 3 attacking midfielders, in the same side as Maicon? Good luck to that team when you lose the ball.

Bam for me. I just dont think Rigor's side could dominate the midfield which is where most games are invariably, won and lost. He'd had a lethal side on the counter attack though. Throw in a strong defensive midfielder in to that side and he'd look a whole lot stronger.
