My older brother has a Jeep wrangler that I am planning on buying for trials.. I don't know much about mechanics but I do know that the Jeep is virtually invincible except for the prop shaft which commonly breaks on the back axle. Anyone have an ideas on how to fix this so it cannot break/doesn't break so easily? BTW the Jeep is already equipped with roll cage, harnesses etc. and by Jeep trials I mean we will be driving through stakes set in a quarry on hills, jumps or various other off-road tasks. Thanks :D

Post up a pic and lets have a look then :D

With regards to the propshaft problem, you are probably better off asking on one of the Jeep forums or looking at UK jeep specialists.

There is a regular trials competition series here, can't remeber the website though :o

There's also a whole load of us who just go playing for fun and also several challenge type events.

Good machine but be aware that parts can be a nightmare.

Quick Google brings up loads of US supplliers. Apparantly you want a Slip Yoke Eliminator kit, I reckon you'll have to get it from the US

I would be careful about just making the propshaft stronger, it could be a cheap weak link. Make the prop unbreakable and you might be looking at a stripped diff next or worse, gearboxes.....
The series landrovers break halfshafts easily but the damage is limited to that easily replaceable part, they don't tend to strip diffs.
There is a reason for that.
