Put the heat on last night and no joy - checked the tank and there was some oil in it. Just wondering does the heat stop working when the oil reaches a certain level?

I seem to be having an issue with the pressure (i think). the gauge in the hot press keeps droping and the WATER wont heat then (the heating itself works grand)... So every few days i need to open the valve and allow the pressure to build up again and it works fine for another day r2. Can any1 suggest what migt be wrong n what i cld do 2try n fix it without gettn sum1 in?

Check at the safety vent (the pipe going outside from the boiler) and see if there is any water there, if so, it's a problem with your expansion vessel, if not you have a water leak somewhere, eitherway you should get someone in to check your system

Is the expansion vessel the red little tank in the hot press? im kinda thinkn its that, as once i left 2much pressure back into the system and the boiler outside started leaking, theres a button that releases the pressure and it was coming from that pipe... is it just air thats the pressure or isit a gas of some sort?

Your safety valve on the boiler needs to be replaced.
