CRT TV for PS3 - any way to know how it will look?

I am thinking of buying this: http://tinyurl.com/65w8zse, a Sanyo CE28FWN6-B. Is there anyway to work out how it will look while playing on the PS3, or do I simply have to buy it, try it and hope for the best? I know it won't be the best picture but I am more wondering how bad it will be.

1st picture is original game screenshot in full HD resolution.
2nd picture is in same resolution but with reduced details as you will have in CRT tv.
Also you will find worst colours and 50hz refresh blinking with CRT TV.

If you are going to play a PS3 on a SD CRT whatever you do don't use the pack in yellow, white and red cables. You'll get a horrendous quality picture. The fact of the matter is that most new games play very close to standard definition resolutions. People think that HD is a massive improvement because they are using the pack in yellow white and red cables. Using these cables will also lead to other problems like unreadable text in games.

If you are going to play on a standard definition TV then get an RGB scart cable for the PS3. They are cheap and give the best video quality for standard definition. It will look like this:

Pluging the yellow white and red cables into a scart adapter is not the same thing. Also I recommend plugging it into the AV1 scart socket because some TVs only have the primary socket wired for RGB scart. Plugging it into any other socket. The jump in picture quality from composite (yellow, white and red cables) to RGB is huge.

This is actually untrue. You'll actually get better colours on a good standard definition TV than on an LCD or LED TV. A very good plasma might be able to match the colour from a CRT. I don't know what you mean by 50 Hz blinking??? Also any decent CRT will support 60 Hz anyway, Sanyo is a decent brand that will support it.

What's untrue? That HDMI digital signal with error correction gives better signal than analog PAL through composite?
Or modern LCD tv (or plasma) will offer better colors (and picture quality) than old CRT tv?

I mean 50Hz (or 60Hz) vertical refresh rate for CRT is 50 (or 60) blinks per second.

It depends on the TV not the cable. There might be colour problems with a crappy RGB cable but a half decent one will give you a perfect signal. Anyway it has nothing to do with the Cable. Also if you are playing the console through composite as you mention then of course you'll get a terrible picture. Through RGB scart you will get excellent picture quality with all the colours seperated into black, white, red, green and blue just like through HDMI.

The fact of the matter is that CRT's have much better colour than LCD screens. The backlight on LCD and LED screens means that most colours are a little washed out and blacks look pretty poor. This has improved in recent years but CRT's still give much richer colours than any LCD or LED screen. That's a fact. Plasma screens don't have a backlight but still they are receiving the same colour data from HDMI as they are from an analogue outpt and can display the same amount of colours meaning that at best a Plasma will match the colours in a CRT.

It's not blinks per second, it's how fast the screen refreshes. CRT TV's don't 'blink' either, they are rastered by an electron beam. Anyway most games run in 60Hz and a lot don't support 50 Hz. As long as you are playing in 60Hz you will be getting the same frame rate as on an LCD, LED or Plasma. Actually you;ll be getting better refresh rates because LCDs, LEDs and Plasma screens have a refresh delay meaning you have slightly more responsive controls on a CRT. Again unless you are getting are really cheap awful CRT then it will support 60 Hz PAL and NTSC refresh rates.
