Medicine Questions?

    Hi guys. I'm currently in sixth year and i need to fill out my CAO and all that kinda stuff so I'm researching a load of courses and the medicine course really appealed to me but I'm just a little unsure and i kinda feel like i need to ask somebody who is actually doing/ has done the course two questions!
    1) -When did you know you wanted to study medicine?
    2) -Why did you want to study medicine?
    I'm contemplating applying put I don't know if i'd be able for it. I'm not one of those people who have been saying "I want to be a doctor" since they were three, but i do think it would be an incredibly interesting rewarding course and career and i definitely want a career in a related field!

    I'm in second year.
    1) I was musing it halfway through sixth year. Wasn't definitely sure until I started.
    2) There's no right answer to this question. I just thought it was something interesting to study, rewarding in terms of meeting people, and with a secure career associated with it. In that order.

    So basically you were the same as i am now by the sounds of it!

    See i know it would be an amazing course to do, its just i don't know if i would be able for it, not in terms of the work load just in terms of being slightly squeamish. And i know that sounds ridiculous but i think once I get over that i would be fine with it, but im just apprehensive.
    Most of the people in my school that are applying have been planning to do so for so long and I'm only kinda thinking of it now so I don't want to look like the one who's just putting it down for the hell of it.
