Anybody know if this is right?

"In order to enable wireless syncing, you must first plug your iOS device into the computer you wish to sync with. You then select the device in iTunes’ Source list, click the Summary tab, and then within the Options area enable iTunes’ Sync With This iPhone/iPod/iPad Over Wi-Fi option. Click Apply and iTunes will sync with the connected device.."

Afaik this works, but obviously the machine holding your iTunes library must be on, with iTunes open.

So sounds good in theory but it will sync in a fraction of the time over USB.

also has to be connected to a power source during the sync, kind of defeats the purpose being honest.

It doesn't have to be. It only has to be connected to power to automatically sync. You can manually start a sync while on battery - either from the phone or in iTunes.

ahh is that the case, apologies.

Throughout the betas it needed to be connected to power source even to manual sync.

I wouldn't sync music wirelessly unless you are only syncing an album or 2. I read a comparison somewhere (think it was lifehacker) that wifi syncing takes around 6 times as long as by cable. It took me the guts of 30 mins to sync just 10 gigs of music at the weekend, that would have taken ~ 3 hours if I did it wirelessly.
