Well the 599 (2008) and the Aston (2007) have very low mileage (approx 1k pa) and are listed as 0 owners, so suspect the garage prob really wants shot at this stage...

Paddy has sold a few Astons already this year.

AFAIK he isn't under any pressure to be shot of them

So would he have had these for the 3 or 4 years? And if so why?

No ulterior motive btw, don't know the garage at all. Just seems a long time for them to be 0 owners. Course that in itself could just be an error in the ad.

They couldn't be 2007/2008 with no owners - they'd have to have been registered to somebody.;)

I assume it's an error, I've only seen that Vanquish recently on carzone so I assume he bought it, or maybe it was his own car? It hasn't been sitting there years anyway. Think the same goes for the 599

An error in the ad I'd imagine.

He has a lot of top end stock and services a lot of specialist vehicles in his garage near Kilmacanogue in Wicklow. An odd looking place certainly but I've never heard anything bad and the stock does shift around. I saw him sell an Aston outside a hotel one morning over breakfast during the summer

I have been a passenger in that Phantom before and to be honest it isn't in the best condition if I'm being honest. The paintwork has some nasty dents in it and I think the paint has some bubbles on the rear drivers side beside the wheelarch. The leather inside looked a bit tired too.

I was able to look at it up close at last years cannonball run and left feeling a bit disappointed. The 2007 black one though was there too and that was a beauty. High enough mileage too for a Phantom.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 110 ✭✭what recession?

The leather looks a bit beat up inside now that you mention it. And assuming you're talking about the Mansory Phantom (think that was in the Cannonball), it is a bit of a beaut alright! Although I still think the unmodified ones can look great, not particularly mad about the color of the one for sale but if it was given to me I'd have no complaints!

Is that not Michael O'Dohertys Lambo? Saw it on a trailer two weeks ago obviously coming back from its service.
Under no pressure to shift cars? There not paintings they may be pretty but they are shedding value by the month!
ASFAIK dealers can avoid paying over the VRT until the car is sold but that Arnage has been on the road and taken a mighty depreciation hit

The Bentley looks like it was designed in 1985.

The interior is hideous. A big flat wall of dash.

That Gallardo is most likely an import. 'Serviced in UK', high enough reg number for an '04.

They will all be imports as there is no main dealer for them in eire

Add to that a UK service history will probably be more valuable than letting Paddy down the road service it

Doubt it, I'm pretty sure there were around 100,000 cars D registered every year during the good times, well I've seen many 1XXXXX Reg cars so I'm just guessing. The Lambo probably is Michael O Doherty's.

Sheesh the price of those cars new! 450K for the Aston Martin.

I just cannot comprehend paying out that amount of money for one car.

I'm quite sure Des Cullen used to sell them, presumably from new. I'm pretty sure he sold Enya her Maybach, and also used to sell new Bentleys so it's probable Lamorghini's were also under their umbrella.

Check it out before you go, there was a wonderful story about 2 Dublin based brash Celtic Tiger upstarts who bought identical Lambos at the same time in the UK.

One was cleared for VRT, the other wasn't. They allegedly rang each other up and arranged for the plates to be on one car one week, on the other the next...

Last I heard of one of them was a trail of liquidated companies.

I suspected it was a recent enough import as opposed to a Celtic Tiger purchase.

It's the same business, I suppose. I doubt the Cullen family have any involvement in it though as it was ran by Trevor Musgrave from 2007/8 I think and then the family took him to court and took it back, and I'm guessing Dreamcars swooped in and took Musgrave's position? Not sure
Here's a post about the case

I'd be dangerous with a lotto win. I'd bags the Aston and that GT-R straight away.

Yep, because it is so late in the year you'd be mad(lotto or not) to register a new car. Buy the G-TR and order your 12 plate. :D

I'd call a Motors meet straight away!!
