I see that Woodies are selling their own brand of silicone sealant for 3 euro 50 cents at the moment.

I need to reseal/resilicone a shower panel in the bathroom on the shower screen,so just wondering if the Woodies is any good for that price.

    Or should I avoid it???

    Thanks.:)

Its ok. tbh the problem you have buying dear brands is you dont know if the quality is good or the markup is high.

I use to import Geocel which is available in Woodies. I found this excellent. I never thought much of EVO but i know lads that swear by it.

You can conduct your own creap test before using it but tbh i just apply a decent amount and smooth it off. Always remember that most silicone has movement so a typical silicone with movement of 20% will have a 2mm movement on 10mm bead. The trick is to buy pure silicone or pack it in so to speak...

So would it be ok and good enough to reseal a shower panel against a tiled wall,to prevent water and spray leaking out??

Cant really see the point in paying out up to 10 euro for some of the other sealants which claim they are specificly for bathroom only and pure white

    Thanks.:)

If the shower panel is fixed to the wall any silicone will seal it. If its not and there is too much movement any silicone wont work.

However as said i would use geocel from woodies just because i know it so well and love it.

Thanks, the shower panel is fixed to the wall, but the original bead of silicone sealant has let go somewhere on the inside and some water/spray is seaping out and down onto the bathroom floor now.

You do seem to love that geocel allright,as I think I remember you praising it on another thread before.

What sort of price is it per tube??

    Thanks.:)

paddy i cannot see how that is seeping through. Thats not a power shower against it so to speak.

I think whats happening is the water is flowing in a think stram along the screen and bath and out onto the floor. Quite a common problem.

Can you take a photo of the top of your bath where it meets the screen.

fyi I imported geocel for years as a sideline business. I know exactly what its capable off and its worth every penny you spend.

Its a 900 x 900 shower tray with a perspex shower door/screen thats built into the corner of a bathroom, and the perspex shower door opens out (like a normal door).

Oh and its not my house either, its my mates house.I said Id help him out a bit as he help me out a few weeks ago.

the water is seaping out over against the wall, where the panel is sealed to the wall beside the bath, and theres also a small bit of water managing to get out down the front bottom where the shower door closes over and meets the panel too.:(

Your door is called a pivot door and side panel

The door is leaking because its cheap. Sorry. If he puts the shower head on the left wall this should stop that hower it will make the leak worse on the right so pack this with silicone. TBH if it were me i would cut out the old silicone with a sharp stanley and pack in a new bead. It wont leak then.
