I got an extended battery from fleabay for me evo3d. Twice the amount of charge compared to standard battery. It's so big though that they give you a new back cover to accommodate it's size. Don't use it though cos any covers I have won't fit on with new back on it

just the clarify - the batterys i got were just standard ones. thought you were looking for spare and not for extended life.

Search for Anker batteries on Amazon, I got 2 of them and a charger which the battery slots into for about €25. They're 1900mAh as opposed to 1500mAh was able to get 19 hours out of mine yesterday, not a hope with the Samsung battery.

Go to accounts in settings and make sure the 2 htc ones are set to never sync. Make sure your screen is on auto brightness. Turn down the frequency of email polling. Turn off phone locator. None of these are ideal solutions I know, but they at least help a little bit. All the phone manufacturers seem to put ridiculous screens into phones these days and give little thought to what's gonna power them.

Why not just get a portable charger ?

+1 for the Anker batteries, picked up 2 of them last week. Haven't done all 5 full recharge/discharge cycles yet - which in itself is probably a testament to the improvement! - but I've gone from recharging twice a day (the novelty of a smart phone hasn't worn off :) ) to recharging every second day.

    Hi guys,
I use an app called Dazzle Configurable Switcher found here - https://market.android.com/details?id=org.hermit.dazzle&hl=en

I have the widget permanently on my home screen and thus can easily turn sync on and off as well as change the brightness without having to go into settings each time! Using it with the tips Griffdaddy mentioned above extends my battery a lot!

On another note now that the Sensation XE is out and it has the same form factor as our original Sensation but a higher capacity battery you reckon we could buy an XE battery and pop it in?

    Cheers,
    M

The Anker batteries are much better yes. About Auto-Brightness I wouldn't dream of having it on. Turn it off and put your finger on the notification bar, then slide left for less brightness or slide right for more brightness. It's handy for when the sun hits and you can't even see your screen, you don't need to go looking for a widget.

Is that brightness feature built into HTC Sense?

It's not actually, I forgot for a minute that not everybody has the galaxy s2! Not sure if it's a feature on any other phone. Very handy though
