So I am moving into a fully furnished appartment this week. Its my first time renting on my own. I am going through an agency. Has anybody and tips for me like esb, internet etc. I am so green when it comes to all this

ring the energy company of your choice the day you move in, they will want an 'mprn' number

also get a list of everything that's in the apt when you move in, electrical goods, furnishings etc and ensure that you have everything on it in good condition when you end your lease.

also ask if the tenancy is registered with the PRTB

don't forget to claim your tax credit for renting from revenue either.

Take date-stamped photos of everything when you move in and give a copy to the agency for their records, just incase there's a problem with your deposit when you're moving out.

Not sure if this is possible, it says the following in the link below -

The relief will be phased out over 8 years
Claimants who were not renting at 7 December 2010 and who subsequently entered into a rental agreement will not be able to claim relief

It's always best to ensure you're in control of your electricity account (and/or gas account, if you have one), so even if the agency has already set this up for you, I would recommend you ring up and confirm all details are to your satisfaction.
