I don't know anything about it but it starts on Comedy Central Tonight at 21.30.

Sure it may not be bad.

    Anything's better than Lee Evans.

    From IMDb
After one particularly big night out, they end up having an unplanned threesome which results in an even more unplanned pregnancy. They decide its time to ditch the party lifestyle and have the baby. As a threesome.

It sounds absolutely woeful. But yes, it does sound better than Lee Evans.

I like lee evans. Just not every day of the week and hopefully threesome will be half decent. Sick of turning on and seeing two and a half men all the time

One-season wonder IMO. They might knock a second season out of the three of them struggling to handle a tiny baby. That said, I haven't watched it, just my gut feeling from the constantly run trailer.

Is that Amy Huberman woman famous?

She was on the radio talking about this earlier and the interviewer acted like she was a big celebrity...

It looks beyond awful, I would actually prefer constant Lee Evans repeats.

I have no idea who she is and even less interest in googling her to find out.

I think I saw her plastered across the front page if that rag the Irish Independent last week and a mention of the show. obviously she's letting someone famous stick his penise insider her.

She's Brian O'Driscoll's missus and was also in the Clinic.

She's one of those women that the Irish media have bizarrely dubbed as "stunning" and "gorgeous" and keep harping on about her, like Glenda Gilson or Kathryn Thomas, even though I think she looks like a man.

It seems pretty meh! But you can't judge a book by it's cover so I might give it a try.

That's from tonight's episode... if that's what I man looks like then I give up, there's no hope for any of us!

Watching it on comedy +1 now, it's watchable but not laugh a minute or anything.

I like Amy Huberman though, she always comes across as really nice and down to earth in interviews, and I really enjoyed her work in The Clinic. Best of luck to her I say, people ready to knock the show before it had even started... as mentioned already, if it gives a break from the constant Lee Evans re-runs (which weren't even funny the first time around), then it can't be all bad surely!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,605 ✭✭✭OakeyDokey

I have to say I did enjoy it. The story is different to what I thought it would be and Mrs. Doyle is in it so bonus there :D Granted I didn't laugh throughout but it did have its funny bits (the scene where Mitch is racing to the abortion clinic and opens his shirt to reveal a Superman t-shirt)

I'm going to stick watching it and see how it goes.

The promo that Comedy Central played non stop has put me off ever watching it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,425 ✭✭✭telekon

Caught less than a minute of it last night, the 3 of them were in the bed. Most literal TV series title ever, I thought to myself.

The fact that it looked like it was filmed on an iPhone hastened my decision to continue channel hopping...

as some one said ''at least its not lee evens''.. didnt think it was funny, or was it cos i was given bad news yesterday that i wasnt in the mod for laughing..its only new so ill watch it next week to se if i giggle.

Watched Threesome and what a load of crap. I like Amy Huberman but she is hopeless in this but then again it's hard to shine when the script is woeful and everything is over acted. Threesome is absolute crap and one of the worst thing I have seen on television

I watched the first half. I couldn't bring myself to watch the rest it was so bad. I don't think I even smirked once during the bit I saw, never mind actually laugh.

I saw about three minutes of it, and all I noticed was that Mrs Doyle had found another job after all this time. Beggars can't be choosers.

Absolute crap and the worst thing I usher ever watched on tv. Will not be watching again.

It was not that bad. Amy huberman is quite funny and the scottish guy, the other lad isn't but will give it a few weeks.

The script is a bit weak but perhaps that will improve:confused:

Hope Amy Huberman does well out of it she seems sound.

    Watched it...

...and unsurprisingly it was really bad. It may have been at a bit naive of me to hope it would be good, but its definitely better than Lee Evans.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,349 ✭✭✭✭starlit

I watched the two episodes. Took me a while to get into it, thought it was a bit strange and weird at first but got to like the quirks in it. I find it quiet funny to be honest light-hearted and fun but a bit mad in a good way none the less but the acting could be a little bit better. Not what I was expecting but its not too bad. It be funnier than lee evans!

I like Amy as an actress that she was very good in the clinic.

Not sure I understand the kind of knee jerk negativity that seems almost inevitable on this forum towards new shows, and that inevitably rears its head again here.
I've watched this show and it's not bad, it's not profound or life changing, but it made me laugh occasionally, and has a kind of twisted charm. There is a lot of overacting, especially from Amy, who is trying a little too hard, but it is likeable. Willing to give it a chance. The scene this week with them trying to put together the robot baby again like some Frankenstein's monster, I found hilarious.

Am I the only one that finds it funny? I missed the first episode (will watch it online) but the second had me laughing plenty of times. Fair enough it's silly & forgettable humour but it's not as bad as I thought it looked from the previews.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,170 ✭✭✭scout353

I must admit that I watched the opening two episodes and wasn't overly impressed.

However I watched them again with my OH and second time around I found myself enjoying it much more. Consequently, I watched the latest episode and see it in a whole new light!

It is funny and I think this can get better as it progresses!

Loved the last scene when the ante natal tutor raised her hand in response to the question from AMY H. (don't want to spoil it!)

I really like it too, it's not the funniest show on tv but i just really like the 3 lead characters.

Have never watched the clinic so wouldn't know huberman's work but think she's very good in this.

Watched half an episode and found it cliched, badly written, poorly acted and not in the least bit funny.

That's since she got her 'makeover'. Looked worse a few years back:

Ah she was still pretty before. She just looks way younger and not dressed up. She has lost a good bit of weight lately though and I'm not convinced that it suits her. Her face was prettier and softer before she lost weight.

Ah the age old tabloid trick of comparing a shot of someone coming out of the gym or just up first thing in the mornign with one of them at an awards show or tv appearance etc. Doesnt take a genius to figure out there'll be a contrast.

Is there not a shot of her dolled up from earlier in her career for comparison?

Jaysus, i must have a completely different sense of humour to most of you because im enjoying it. As someone else said its got an affable charm to it, nothing ground breaking but every episode so far has gotten a few laughs out of me.

I dont really see the problem tbh and im usually very unforgiving with tv and film.

Gunna bring this thread up again. I just finished watching this series online and I have to say it's the quirkiest, funniest and oddest show I've seen on tv in a while. Yes, at the beginning I thought the fact that they were taking drugs was pushed in your face quite a lot but as the series progressed the characters became extremely likeable. I loved the overacting. I think seeing as the plot was already so wacky that the overacting just fit right in. I don't think Amy was trying to hard to be funny, I actually think she hit the nail on the head.

I think the fact that there was no laughter track put a lot of people off. You really have to concentrate on this programme because a lot of the humour is in the characters actions rather than their words. I thought Amy, Emun and Steven had an incredible chemistry. I wasn't a fan of Pauline in it. She was the only one who came off as a tad unbelieveable but other than that it was a cracker of a show and a great, if you will, coming of age story :D

They're showing this again on Sunday nights before the second series starts. That's right negative nellies, it got a second series :)

I did try watching it last year when it aired and didn't really get into it, but I have to say I'm really enjoying it this time around.
The humour is quite silly so if you're looking for sophisticated cleverly constructed jokes it's not for you. It's surprisingly sweet too. I mean it's about 3 booze hounds who get off their faces and end up having a baby. It doesn't scream sweet at you, but there are some really nice moments in it. Almost always followed by one of them doing something extremely stupid.

I've only seen 4 eps so far but I like it a lot. Comedy Central airs an awful lot of ****e from the US so something like this is a nice change.

New series starts tonight at 9:30 on Comedy Central. Joe Thomas (Simon off Inbetweeners) guest stars.

  • Moderators, Arts Moderators Posts: 23,954 Mod ✭✭✭✭TICKLE_ME_ELMO

Anybody been watching the new series? First 2 episodes weren't great. Tonight's was much better, on par with last series. They seem to have given each character their own episode almost. First was mostly Mitch, second Richie, third Alice. It's not really working for me, it's better when it's the 3 of them together, it is called Threesome after all.

I've been flicking on and off this.....

I even saw a baby tonight!..........Imagine.....it's a bit daft but funny in odd ways.........

    Jury out at the mo!....:)...
