I'm going to be servicing my car in a couple of weeks (getting everything together this week) and as we are going to be seeing some bad weather this year is there anything other than the usual.. Should I throw a litre of anti freeze into the engine.

not sure what you are asking here - if the coolant is low then yes top it up. If you are wondering about the concentration of coolant to water - then you can buy a small gauge for about 2 quid which will tell you.

No coolant looks ok, so do you need to put any type of anti freeze into the actual engine where the oil goes?

sorry if that sounds like a stupid question :D

No only put oil into engine:) its Foook it up otherwise:)Any internal leakage of coolant into the lubricating oil in an engine can cause
    serious damage to the engine:)

Just make sure your tyres, breaks, lights etc are working:)

you can put some coolant into your radiator cap + coolant tank but nowhere else near the engine:)

What kind of servicing? Are you changing oil?

It's not possible to get an accurate representation of the temp the current mix will protect from freezing to by having a peak at it :)
You should get that checked or get the gauge to check it yourself.

Any point in doing an engine flush, I change my oil every 6k miles anyway, so I doubt theres anything to gain, probably a bit off topic.

Also anyone know where I can pick up the following Pennzoil Synchromesh - part #89021808 ? want to do my gearbox oil also.

Yanks are the only ppl Ive heard of doing engine flushes - I wouldnt bother tbh.

If you are doing your gearbox oil - most cars need to be on level ground. Make sure you can open the filler plug before opening the drain plug - have the car on level ground and fill until the oil starts coming out of the filler hole. Again the car has to be level so you cant just lift the front.

I've got an anti freeze tester, but when I tested the coolant the gauge didn't float at all, its the gauge from halfords, if anyone is familiar, I presume I need to add anti freeze to the coolant now, but how much do I need to add.

This myth of adding 1000ml of "antifreeze" to an entire cooling system that holds 4-8 litres, have we not moved on from that yet? Do not all manufacturers recommend 50:50 coolant/water now?
