Updated iPhone software, now lost ringtones won't sync?

I updated the software on my iPhone 3Gs and lost my bespoke ringtone.

So, I created it again in iTunes. It is now present in the ringtones folder of iTunes. It is exactly 30 seconds long. Under Type it says, "Ringtone", so it's kosher. I have deleted the AAC version in the Music folder.

But, it won't sync to my phone. Or at least it's not appearing in my ringtones list in my phone.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks.

    D.

Turn off ringtone syncing in iTunes. Sync. Turn back on ringtones in iTunes, sync again.

    whiterebel,

Thanks for taking the time to reply.

I'm guessing that switching off Ringtones sync isn't done via Edit/Preferences/General/Sources and unticking the Ringtones box and syncing again, coz that's what I tried and it didn't work.

    So, how is it done?

Also, I noticed that some songs are transferring across either.

This is iTunes 10.5.0.142, by the way.

    Many thanks.

    D.

Ps. The Library in iTunes (which is what I want in my iPhone) contains far more music that Devices/iPhone/Music (which only contains what's on the phone). So, it's a case of getting this into Music and onto the phone.

Edited: Sorted. Don't ask! I'm too embarrassed to say why! :o
