Iphone 3G turning on and off

This morning my Iphone 3GS started turning on and off. Once on it waits about 4 minutes and then restarts, and when it comes back it does not require the pin.

Any suggestions as to what it might be? I have just updated the IOS 2 days ago.

    Many thanks

If you updated to IOS5 then there's your problem.

3G does not work with IOS5

I really wish people would read stuff before they install it

I meant to say 3GS. Not the 3G. I presume itunes would not have prompted me if it was not compatible.

Check to see if the PIN may have been deselected during the os5 install. Select it again to see if it works.
Odd that the phone would wait two days before rebooting. Do you turn it off at night etc? Did you do something just before it started?

You could try restoring and updating again, not sure about this though.
