Looking for recommendations for a wedding band in Louth. Want one that will have everybody up dancing for the night - young guests mainly.

Bands - please PM with prices etc

hi desk girl, as grey an area as it is, I dont think Pming to this is allowed on here.

Few things when looking for a band, always include a date and a budget when asking, the exact location doesn't really matter as long as its general area.. Band might be out of your price range or not be available.

you can get a band from anything from 600e to 3600e but an average price is somewhere between 1500-2200 with a DJ. With supply, demand and group size dictating price. An in demand 6 piece will ask for higher then a 4 piece who don't have too much in. But in general you'll get what you pay for here.

Check out the websites of bands mentioned in the Bands sticky, look at their set lists, narrow it down to 3-4 bands that are available for your budget and go and view them.

    Thanks Clint

Wedding date is April 5th 2013 in Dundalk. No exact budget at the moment, willing to pay for decent band.

ah your a nice enough way out then, nearly everyone should be available for that, by that I mean, all the dublin bands will travel up there, not to say there aren't any good local bands, but you'll have your pick and have a few months to look around before the april dates go. the fairs are usually jan/feb so thats when the diary fills although Ive a good few summer nights in 2013 gone already.

If you go through the bands sticky theres at least 50-60 bands with at least one recommendation for each saying "they had the floor full all night", so how do you pick the "one"?

Look at a bands setlist on their website, if theyre a pro band around a while, theyll have a website, if they have a lot of newer songs in put them in your shortlist, 90% of these setlists will be the same but you might see a song by a band that might seal it for you, once you build your shortlist, mail them all for a price and availability and viewing dates. narrow it down again. pick 1 or 2 weekends, drive around leinster and view as many as you can, then make your decision.

    HTH!!
