Yes, the warranty will cover it.

Thankfully, I was inside my AppleCare by two days when mine broke.

They may have to send it to Apple in Cork to have it assessed, it may take it a couple of days but it's worth it.

I had the same problem. One of the pins on the end of the Magsafe had recessed so it wouldn't charge.

I set up a service call on Tuesday. They rang me on Wednesday and I got it today.

You have to send back the faulty part in an UPS envelope they send you with the replacement.

Free of charge but they will take your credit card details off you in case you don't send the broken part back.

exact same thing happened to me,had to keep whipping it off the edge of the bed so the pin would come out so i could live to charge another day! lol
then went to pc world, bought one of the newer ones and the fuse blew in it after two hours...fml :D

Mines on the blinker now too.I've had it over a year so I've no warranty anyway. Not sure what to do,Been looking at them on Amazon,They're fairly expensive and badly reviewed on it.Well my type anyway 60watt 13-inch.

Apple have been known to replace chargers outside of warranty. See here:
Whether your product is in or out of warranty, you can take your adapter to an Apple Authorized Service Provider or Apple Retail Store for evaluation and replacement if necessary. Pending the results of evaluation, you may or may not be eligible for a replacement adapter free of charge. Signs of accidental damage would negate any coverage. Be sure to bring in the computer used with the adapter; it is required to process potential adapter replacements.

However, I suspect most providers will refuse you either because they are ignorant of Apple's policy or because they see a potential sale. Nevertheless it's worth a try. An official Irish Apple Store would be handy for things like this.

Yeah I think I'm just going to have to buy a new one,Unless its possible to post the charger across the water to a store to try and avail of a warranty. As you've mentioned about most retail outlets my chances are slim for a replacement for free.
