iPhone 4 LED FLash

I recently updated my iPhone 4 to iOS5 and everything was running smoothly etc until last night when I used the iTorch app and my LED Flash never turned off. It was either on the whole time or flashing, this was even after I exited the app and even when I turned the phone off. Is this a fault or does anyone know what is wrong?

I had a similar issue with another "Torch App.

Best advice, to be safe and protect your phone don't use torch apps, it is "off-label" use and can result in the phone overheating. I am unsure if this can result in permanent damage, but I don't think so

    LEDs don't generate much heat.
If there was a danger in it, and it did cause Damage then Apple would be responsible for selling it on the App store

Read somewhere else that it could be a fault in the wire? Squeezing the iPhone actually affects the light. I wonder would this be covered under warrantee as its a fault not an actual break?

Have you tried the obvious, holding in home and lock for 20seconds till the phone restarts?

Yep. The flash stays on even when the phone is turned off.

LEDs can generate a lot of heat,it just depends on their power rating.
If I remember it correctly, when the iPhone overheats disables flash usage as it is a source of heat,

But back to the flash not turning off.

It it a known problem with two reported fixes.

    (1) A hardware issue, often resulting from a dropped phone.

    - Camera Module needs replacement

    (2) A software conflict between two apps using the flash.

    - Delete ALL flash/camera using apps and do a full restore.

We were talking about the LED flash on the iPhone, so its power rating is quite low.

Anyway, I'd go with deleteing the apps like you said first
