    I have to give a presentation on: 'What is the adaptive significance of observational learning' in a couple of days. I just started college and don't have a clue where to begin. Can anyone steer me in the right direction regarding sources of information online* or any famous studies related to the topic?

    Thanks a lot!

    * I don't have a textbook yet.

    Haha, yeah tried that already to no avail. As you can see my question is slightly more specific than 'psychology'

    Hmm.... Have you access to a library, where you might find a textbook?

    There is a million and one things you could do for that, it really is a very accessible area.

    Off the top of my head you would have;

    Vygotsky
    Mead
    Bandura
    Mirror Neurons
    Script theory

    Basically any theorists that thinks learning is a social thing first, rather than a purely cognitive/closed off process ie Piaget. Developmental psychology should become your friend for this.

    As for the evolutionary aspects, after reading about these guys/theories the advantages and reasons why they are there will fall into place easily.
