Bird box dimensions?

Hello I have some wood that is suitable for a bird box but it is not the same dimensions as on the diagram. How much of a leeway is there? I don't mind which song bird I attract. I'll be smitten if its only used once! Also, what tool to use to make the entrance hole I have an appropiate site in the garden for it.

What size timber have you. Coal tits don't need as much space as there cousins Blue and Great tits, 25mm is the entrance hole size for a coal tit.

A drill bit like this will make the entrance hole. Available from any hardware store.
