This problem started yesterday as I was still on Firefox 3, however I upgraded to Ver. 7.01 and it is still happening on all different websites, any ideas?

    That's a big jump from 3 to 7.

    Try
downloading the actual install, delete Firefox and then reinstall.

I was having problems with a rogue diverter on FireFox called "Bywill". Not sure if that might be causing you problems. I downloaded a program to remove it and now my FireFox is working perfectly again.

    This might help.

Disable all of your add ons and see if its still crashing. If it no longer crashes start turning them back on one by one to see if you can find the culprit.

Minor bump rather than making a new thread.

Firefox is crashing, but without an error message or the usual error report thing popping up.
Pretty certain it isn't memory or addons. I'm running 8gb ram and just incase I doubled my VM and disabled all addons, then deleted firefox altogether and did a clean install and the problem still persists.
Tried the two suggestions above to no avail.

    So, any suggestions?

    Oh, XP sp3, FF8.0

Cheers gents. I have Chrome as well, but it's not compatible with the Open University so I'll have to dl Explorer if I can't figure this out... :o

Try wiping your Firefox profile and starting again from scratch (uninstalling and reinstalling wont remove your profile). You can wipe your profile following these steps. Backup any bookmarks, kep note of addons etc before doing this.

I also uninstalled using Your Uninstaller which takes out the registry keys associated with the program also. Re-installed and am still having multiple crashes despite disabling my add-ons, I just don't think my pc likes Firefox 8.

Your Uninstaller probably does not remove the Firefox profile, read my previous post showing how to delete a corrupted profile and start fresh
