Would you consider some intermediate steps between a moped and a 1200 or 1300cc machine?

I've got BM R1200GS, it's a great bike, but jumping on one from a 50cc scooter is not recommended, apart from the power difference the sheer weight of the thing takes a while to get used to. It's 300kgs + fuel + rider + whatever else.

Putting a restrictor on it makes it even more difficult, because you really need the power for that weight.

You'll probably go need to do the IBT, and depending on insurance costs, having a 1200/1300cc machine might be prohibitively expensive.

He only said he liked the styling he didn't mention getting one.

Op what about a SV650. Be a grand starter bike. Reliable. Looks ok.

Age would be handy. We can weed out the insanely expensive insurance choices.
