    You have been warned:o

Raw started with John Laurinaitis walking to the ring. He said that he's not happy being in Mexico and he doesn't feel comfortable. He talked about what happened last week with Triple H, C.M. Punk, R-Truth, and The Miz. They played a video from last week showing Michael Cole laughing because Laurinaitis fired Jim Ross.

Laurinaitis announced that the main event would be Alberto Del Rio and Michael Cole vs. John Cena and Jim Ross. The winner will decide the stipulation for Del Rio vs. Cena at Vengeance.

    1. Mark Henry, Cody Rhodes, and Christian defeated Randy Orton, Sheamus, and John Morrison. After the heels won, tthey continued with the brawl outside. Cody Rhodes tried to escape backstage, but Orton followed him to the back. Christian went through the crowd but Sheamus followed him also.

Randy Orton vs. Cody Rhodes was announced for the Vengeance pay-per-view.

    2. Eve (w/Kelly Kelly) defeated Natalya (w/Beth Phoenix).

Beth Phoenix vs. Eve for the Divas Championship was announced for the pay-per-view.

    3. CM Punk (w/Triple H) beat The Miz (w/R-Truth). During the match, John Laurinaitis walked down and showed a document to Triple H. He told Triple H to leave the ringside area and he did. After the match, Miz and Truth attacked Punk.

Video of Stone Cold Steve Austin

Vickie Guerrero walked to the ring with Jack Swagger and Dolph Ziggler. Vickie announced that Dolph Ziggler and Jack Swagger will face Air Boom for the Tag Titles at Vengeance.

    4. Zack Ryder beat Jack Swagger. After the match, Swagger and Ziggler attacked Ryder. Mason Ryan ran out to make the save and he said the he wanted to face Ziggler tonight.

    5. Dolph Ziggler beat Mason Ryan via DQ. Ryan attacked Ziggler on the ropes and the referee counted to five to disqualify Ryan.

It was announced to the live crowd that Sin Cara will meet Sin Cara in a mask vs. mask match at the Smackdown taping.

    6. John Cena and Jim Ross defeated Alberto Del Rio and Michael Cole. Cena hit the Attitude Adjustment on Cole. Ross applied a submission hold on Cole's ankle, and then Cole tapped out. Cena chose to make his title shot against Del Rio a Last Man Standing match at Vengeance.

Its a bit of a mess, Ace fires JR and then adds him into a match with no prior warning the following week.
Its a good thing he just happened to go on the tour with them, isnt it? :pac:

No but seriously, the wwe logic is baffling sometimes. :(

Or saying HHH gave up on Smackdown last week only for him to say on Raw he will he never give up.

Or Orton wrestling Henry on Raw & Smackdown this despite the fact the previous week's Smackdown was set to be the final time.

Holy God, no RAW live thread? this doesn't bode well for their ratings. I wonder how much is that it's taped, and how much is that the show is crap.

btw - "Sky Sports 3 Live"? Liars! :p

Maybe because I read the spoilers, but pre-taped Raws just don't have the same appeal.

How is Cole's ankle still attached? :(

So, Last Man Standing then. Should be good enough I spose.

Del rio to implore some sort of cheat to win tactic again id say.

Put Cena under a ton of bricks or something?

Just watched it there, not as bad as last week, but that aint saying much!!

The pop for Sheamus was great, and I love watching Mark Henry. I thought it would get old with him, but every week, he impresses me more and more. They have to continue this gimmick with him till Wrestlemania, keep the belt on him and build Sheamus to be the guy to stop him, as I really enjoyed them working together.

Is Vengeance this Sunday? Cos if it is, this was not a good lead-in to it. I will watch Smackdown to see if that gets me interested for Vengeance, cos at the moment, I will be watching online monday.

Remember how bad the last man standing matches were that Cena had with Orton & Miz. Hope for a huge improvement sunday rather than Cena takes a beating for 20+ minutes then runs through his opponent in about 90 seconds in a supercena comeback. Surely ADR will win this the belt has changed hands too many times lately.

i can't remember cena ever having last man standing matches with either orton or miz, i quit matches yes, in i quit matches cena has never lost but he has lost most of his last man standing matches, the only exception i think was the match with batista last year and the ductape around the ringpost

oh yeah I just remember cena taking a unrealistic beating & then squashing them. I remember was it edge that beat him in one after big show put him through a spotlight. Can't say i'm looking forward to it the match they had at Night of Champions was mediocre at best.

I remember Cena beating Umaga at the Royal Rumble before in Last Man Standing, choking him out with the ring rope.

Gosh this must be the least cared about RAW all year! I reckon the ratings are gonna suffer. I say 2.9. WWE deserve a bad buyrate for this PPV.

Some reception for Sheamus in Mexico, just had a gander at the tag match on YouTube there. They're doing a good job building him up as a big time face these days. His match with Christian on Sunday should be good again. Might or might not watch the rest of the show at some point.

The international/taped Raw's always suffer in the ratings. Always expect a high 2 rating for it

remember how good the LMS matches with Edge and Umaga were? No reason to be to concerned with the quality of the match on Sunday really.

I wonder how come - because it's been taped and 600,000+ people read the spoilers and tune out, or because people know they put on a bad show when it's taped; maybe it's self-fulfilling prophesy. It's kinda the opposite of what TNA do, their "on the road" shows are generally bigger news than the florida eps.

I'd say it's the 1st part tbh. Probably the best reason Raw does well rating wise is because it's live so it's unpredictable

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,013 ✭✭✭✭jaykhunter

I wouldn't have thought 600,000+ people would read dirtsheets, more like less than 100,000 total, you know? Or do americans pay attention to where WWE is next week? Like i'd consider myself an informed fan but i wouldn't expect casual fans to know they were in mexico so it wouldn't be live tbh.

Awesome Truth should've googled what "you suck" is in Spanish. C'mon, get the lead out!

If this was TNA they'd have mexico-coloured ropes :pac:

"Voice of the Voiceless" my arse. Punk is now bum-buddies with Triple H. Isn't that lovely and a massive slap in the face.

I thought this would be a good show with it being in Mexico but they just treated it like any other show and thus it came off quite flat to me. I remember when they went to Japan a few years back for Raw and they at least tried to make it more wrestling oriented. I thought this was a disappontment.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,391 ✭✭✭D2D

    I'm shocked:eek:
The 10/17 edition of Raw did a 3.1 rating, with 4,475,000 viewers. The show did hours of 3.05 and 3.2 so at least the direction went upward as the show progressed this week.

that's much better than i thought, and gaining viewers too.

so ross was fired and still went to mexico

it's because Henry was on the show.

Smackdown's ratings at an all-time high too.

    it's obvious.

Ryder is on both Raw and Smackdown.

It is clearly him using the Wolverine Factor :pac:

Rafa Benitez would declare that a fact.

Was anyone else really put off by the pipped in crowd noise here? Would have actually liked to have heard the Mexican fans.

Its one of the reasons I find it so hard to stay interested in Smackdown; I wouldn't mind if they pipped in clear cheers or boos, but have the time it just seems to be a mindless droning noise :S

Anyway, ratings thing doesn't surprise me; the majority of casual fans probably didn't even realise it wasn't live...
