Shocking disgusting antics of online bookmakers !!!!

So pissed off with the way the punter is treated.
On saturday I had a very good tip for a horse. Phoned Will Hill (the multi-billion dollar company) and wanted X on a horse. They refused and would only take 20% of my stake at 11/4. They then offered another 20% at 9/4. This is just disgusting and vile. We're talking a relatively small 4 figure sum here. (don't start on the "shouldn't be gambling anyway or where did you get a few grand in a recession from" ):mad:
I then tried Ladbrokes (as I was placing bets for a few friends as well). They would only take 20% at 5/2 and the remainder at 2/1. To make matters worse the horse won at 5/2 but they would only pay the remainder at 2/1 as it wasn't best price guaranteed .!! Pricks:mad:
To cap it all this morning I went to Will Hill again to lump on a horse for today at 9/4. They proceeded to take all details then just hung up. I called back immediately only to be told the horse was now 7/4 !!
    It's pure bullsh1t.
I can only guess there are loads of people who get treated this way as well. It seems the more successful you are the more ignorant they become and you are a liability to them....Fookin disgraceful:mad:

What your horse for today if you dont mind me asking?

Do you not have a betfair account?
Better prices and no problem getting on.

Welcome to the world of bookmaking, this is how it works, they billy bullshit you all the time. "We've seen significant money" has to be the biggest lie you'll ever hear from them, they wouldn't lay eggs. They wouldn't lay you two bananas to a banana as the great Barney Curley once said.

They want you backing on the rapido and cartoon racing only, people might know something in racing so they won't lay any big bets.

I bet if your tip won OP they probably closed your account

Next time if they reduce the price dramatically, unless you know a fortune is going on ,say you will take sp. Obviously at the time the tip comes out everyone is trying to get on they reduce the price knowing people will panic and take the reduced price even if it is not guaranteed. Hugh Taylor of ATR is a good example of this and often you are better of at SP than taking a reduced price. Also often price can disappear on the exchanges as well because of everyone trying to get on at once but if the price was right in first place the layers will pull it back out again.

Bookmaker will look a right idiot if they will not take a bet at sp. Also maybe they should be obliged under licencing to state an amount they are prepared to lose in the same way they are on course.

If you got on I hope it won and if you did not get on that it lost

And that my friend is how to get your account flagged in one phone call.

What is wrong with betfair or having 5 accounts with different bookies, selecting the horse with each bookie, entering your stake and then quickly cycle through the tabs and click place bet, this will happen too fast for the bookies to react to your bets.

bookmakers run computer systems and databases of their customers. they use online analytical processing on their databases to find patterns in the way each customer gambles. if someone bets a lot of money on a whim, loses, and comes back week after week for more, he is a 'premium customer' - the book makers dream. they will receive perks, like when they call they don't wait in line, someone is always ready to take their call - and their money.

If on the other hand a customer is winning any more bets than would be considered lucky, aka, they actually know their stuff, calculate risk, get good tips etc. they get put on another list. He will get put on hold for ages, when he finally gets through, the agent will have a flashing red light on his screen. he will be forwarded to another department (again on hold) where the odds will be dropped and he will be treated like garbage.

"If you don't like it go somewhere else!"

The goal is to get winning punters to move to their competitors while keeping the premiums loyal. everyone in between gets normal rates and service.

So next time you call to place a bet during a busy period like before the grand national or something, time how long it takes for them to answer the phone. if you are waiting less than a couple of minutes, perhaps gambling isn't for you.

Try going to Dundalk to get a bet on.I know owners who are known by the so called bookies who cannot get any type of monies on their horses. A horse ran last Friday night and was well fancied at a big price but no money could be be put on,the horse finished down the field when not fancied.I had a few greyhounds over the years and over the last year or so my dogs were not been chalked up so all dogs are now gone. They[bookies] only want your usual loser that spends his life and dole in their offices.

having worked for the Big Firms during the 80's ,I didn't have to be Einstein to see what their game was ,the regular multiple bet every day customer is their bread and butter and the bigger more selective punters are not wanted ,given the advances in their technology they are even more safeguarded against potential coups ,having worked as an on-course clerk also I would have to say most on-course layers were much more honourable than the large off-course chains.
