I wouldn't stock Candy in a shop if I were paid to do so.

OP they seem to be quite different machines, one 5kg and one 7kg,what sort are you looking for? And what budget?

If the limescale is that bad, it might be worth looking at a water softener, it could save the rest of your plumbing as well.

If it only lasted a year, is it still under warranty? Even if not, a washer should last more than a year, Sale of Goods Act and all that.

I have a whirlpool washer/dryer it's going strong 14 years. I've only had to unblock it twice and replace a door hinge myself which is nothing considering how often it's used....maybe I've just been lucky but if I ever need a new one I definitely buy a whirlpool again.

    Hi Dolanbaker,
I'm looking into a water softener aswell, but in the meantime i have to get a new washing machine as this one is kaput.

Have you used a water softener yourself?

Yes, I installed one when we built the house, never had any problems with scale in the (10 year old) washing machine.
