    6 seconds, manifold pressure was low - around 15 "Hg, then rises rapidly.
    9 seconds, LOW RPM as the rotors try to "grip" the air. Pilot adds more collective, trying to stop the decent; but is already in vortex ring state.
    At 13 seconds, MPressure is around 29", the red-line on a 44 is around 26"

    Then the pilot realizes he/she is in vortex ring state and dips the nose to add airspeed. Around 12 seconds we clearly see a rate of decent > 300FPM and an airspeed of 0.

    It would of been worse had he not dipped the nose.

    34 seconds, my guess is the blades are bent because of the massive (and rapid) increase of pitch - they just folded.

    That's my opinion on what happened: a lucky escape too.
